Hi all,
I am new here, so i thought it would be a nice to share my radios with you. Wouldn't trade them for the world :) Thing is, i am not a collector, but i like to remember the machines i used to play with as a kid.
Here they are:

Panasonic RX- 5010LS (belonged to my grandfather) - needs a bit of cleaning and new belt.

Philips RR 522 (belonged to my dad) - fully working, and by the way, this year it turned 40 :)

Sanyo M9998 (my dad had one, but when i was young i was curious and stupid, and therefore destroyed it - i know i know) - so now i found it off ebay to make up for it, for a nice price of 230$. Replaced belts, working 100%.

That's what it's all about - (what makes Boomboxes special to Us ALL). I too, love that Phillips. Welcome aboard. You have a very nice start and those are sweet radios.

it's amazing how these radios still work. They have never been serviced (aside from the belts). All of my friends just don't get it...they're always telling me to buy an ipod dock or something :bang: .
But i really appreciate you guys liking that Philips. It's my precious; simple yet attractive design.

Point that 9998 at your friends' iPod docks and watch them cower in fear.

That Philips is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
I agree on the Philips and what a wonderful story of destroying your dads and finding another one later.

If you dad was like mine you had some sore knuckles. I'll have to post how I broke his Akai Top Load Auto Reverse Deck (I believe it was the first auto reverse made) back in the early 70's due to my curiosity.

Yeah he did smack me a few times. I didn't realize it back then. In the future, when i will have my own kids, i will make sure the radios are safe...locked away with a key :) Looking forward to your story.
