It's only 4.7 ohms and greyed out so I believe it's a fusible resistor. If you can't find a fusible, then you can try flameproof resistors but you'll lose fuse protection. I presume you mean it's completely open (infinity). Anyhow, if you want to confirm that's the issue, you can replace it with another regular resistor or just a jumper and confirm FM is fixed.

I still have the resistor out but it is just reading 1 on the DMM at any ohm setting.
If I use some wire along in there I should be able to test FM without any trouble ?

Indeed, jumping the circuit does resolve FM stereo and we have a winner !!!!!

You must replace that jumper with the proper fusible resistor first chance you get. See, now don't you feel smart fixing something that your techie couldn't?

WOW, I seriously need to do some more delving around on this site, I didn't even notice this and it was about my box!! :lol: :blush:
