I like BIG VOLUME KNOBS.

I like to be able to find the volume knob on a radio without having to think about it and I like OTHERS to be able to locate it easily on the front or top of a complicated control panel.

The radio's below have the biggest volume knobs in my collection

What other BIG VOLUME KNOBS are there?

Crown 950

I like weighted volume knobs!
Those ones with an internal weighted flywheel attached to the same axis.

Who cares if it big and long, if it is not giving fun and pleasure? :w00t:

My favorite has always been the Studio 1 because it's large and all metal that's weighted beautifully. :-)

Fisher ph-492.

Might not be the biggest but I love how it clicks into position as you turn it.

The Crown 850 is the biggest I'm aware of.

The VZ2000 doesn't count, it's too low to be called a knob.

I would have to disagree about the AJ500, I don't like that knob cuz it's made of slippery plastic, and it's not weighted either. It takes way too long to move it across the dial. Weighted = Sanyo MX920, you can move that one all the way to the other side with only one spin.

Right, but BoomboxLover was talking about the Akai's tuner knob.....he said it was weighted and I disagree

Its volume knob sucks too, IMO......it's tiny and has a dual-knob setup that interferes with grip

I'm not a big fan of the "Dual Knob" volume knobs. Instead of a balance knob, they used one knob inside the other  The Sharp 8989 is that way. So are some Aiwa's

My BIG mistake!

I got mixed up with the tuner knob of Akai AJ505 FS!

I thought it was all about knob...

My apologies!

That one is weighted? Cool. I saw one on Ebay a few weeks ago, think it was in AUS, but he cancelled it. Some jerk-o-rama must have sent him a secret offer.

I love goofy threads like this..

Panasonic RS-4360
not the biggest knob, but probably the most stylish and 'notched' as well. A pleasure to use!

Yep, best knobs on a one-piece. Knurled/brushed aluminum, for great grip. None of this slippery nonsense.

Gotta make sure it's the 850L though, not the 850F.........the F uses plastic knobs.

The whole design of the radio is unusual. The aluminum pop up mics, the aerials. All high end though.
Yes. "High-End" is written on its face  .
3 VUs. Side Wooden Panels. :jawdrop:

One of the best looking and sounding boomboxes. :hooray: High quality sound, very nice radio and super looks. :hooray: Only down side is in the bass department. But remember at that period of time most moomboxes had no big bass and it could be a design to save battery life.

Sound quality lovers will reach for RS-4360 no matter what. No doubt about that.
To me RS-4360 ranks way high in my list.

JVC PC-X300 got a BIG volume knob.
Mine is so hard to pull out and measure becuse it is in a box hidden from other boxes.

Hisrudeness owns one and may be he can help us measure the diameter.
