OK, lets get back to it....

Here is another radio I got from Japan.

This is something I wanted to check out, again, based on some members praising this model.

This radio is a real beater. They come up fairly often on Yahoo.Jp but this particular radio kept being listed and wasn't selling. I think I may have paid something like $1.50 plus shipping for this, so I figured "What the Hell".

It has one antenna tip missing and one switch tip missing, screws in the handle are missing....OH and the seller didn't mention it was missing the battery door (would have never bought it if I would have known that! :-/ )

This radio is smaller then a "Mid Sized" and bigger then a "Mini". But it is SO packed with features. Split knob recording, dual VU meter's with two LED limiter lights, Mono, Stereo and Wide, Phono in with separate line in switching, Every input and output one could think of, Timer switch, dual antenna's, separate bass and treble controls, stereo mic's, Metal Tape recording capability, tuner light, battery level tester, fine tuning meter, AC / DC / 12v in.

This really was a top of the line radio back in her hay day! I think I'm going to have to bring this one back from the dead!

I think a respray is in order....maybe some CRAZY color scheme or something super classy, we'll see.

I will say this....I have put some batteries in her and she sounds REALLY GOOD! It's a heavy little radio, smaller then I thought it was going to be, but pound for pound....It's a VERY GOOD radio! Everything works but the deck and it just seems to need belts. It tries to play, but the belt is slipping.

I just wish it was in better shape. :-/

I guess I'll try my hand at making a battery door :-D

Something interesting about this radio....It only takes 6 D Cells and they all go the same direction! Much like the M70. These are the only two radio's I have seen do this

Terrific score, Chris! Great price for a gorgeous sounding and looking radio.

Best of luck getting the battery cover, should be a few people with parts boxes with any luck.

Rock On.

Good luck!

If you can find one in good condition (better than mine!) I'd say grab it....

Our one and only Str?nj-B??mb?ks say's he has an antenna, so I'm on the road to rebuilding this box. Plus I have gotten some guidance on how to make a battery cover!

More to come on all of this
