Well here is my newly acquired Sanyo M-X960K "Big Ben" I got on a recent trade with Vladi.
It is very very nice and sounds great.
More of an easy listening box than a cranker "imho".
But it can get loud,if needed.
Because it was sitting unused for a few years it needed to do some repairs after I got it on Tuesday.
The deck needed some service and the soft touch logic controls were gummed up a typical thing on Sanyo soft touch logic decks.
The switches and pots were scratchy so they were lubed.
I repaired the broken eject button.
I think it looks pretty nice for non original
The mode "stereo mono expand stereo"switch is still funky though.
I might need to disassemble the switch to see what is up wit that though.
Overall I'm quite pleased with the Big Ben.
And very happy with our trade.
I hope Vladi is enjoying the trade I sent him.
Thanks for the great trade Vladi!
Here is a few pics......

That thing looks great! Congratulations Scott! I've never seen one in the flesh, are they gi-normous??? I like the woofer exposed in the middle too, looks boomy with that exposed speaker in the center. Cool Michael Jackson figure you have on the shelf, I have that exact same one from when I was a kid!

I love the unique look of the Big Ben - very nice sounding with proper bass available from the Super Woofer. Those VUs are super classy looking too!

You must be stoked on that trade!

Congrats,

James.... :-)

Yeah its pretty big, more thick than anything though. Its 24" wide X 15" high X 7" thick. Not too heavy either, pretty nice size actually.
The Michael Jackson figure is my wife's from when she was a girl.
She's the original owner too,LOL!
Yeah I forgot to include some pics without the woofer grill on.

Thanks Jimmy, yes I was very happy to finally get a BigBen. I heard on a few years ago at Bill's house at a mini midwest meet. I had DIBS on Bill's,but here needed money fast and had to sell his so I lost out.
Heres a picture of that meet with Bill,Joe and me,I'm holding the Big Ben Bill used to have.

No, you don't wish you had bought Sin's. It's a POS from a POS in my basement that needs ALOT of work. :annoyed: Too much, because it only played for a week. :bang:

Great addition man, this is one radio I would really like to spend some time with.

Every time I have seen one I was at a mini meet where you get to look, listen, crank, NEXT!

I would like to hear it in the living room with some solid Jazz on and a beer.
