Friday afternoon right after people get paid? Wednesday night when you have nothing better to do but surf ebay?

Some auctions are hit and miss and I was wondering if you guys know a good time to have your auction end for "maximum traffic" to see it.....

The last 2 items I sold (besides a buy-it-now item), sold for about 1/2 of what I think they should have.......

Anyone have any pointers?

good question -
lately - none of my ebay sales have got what i expected or close to what
i paid :'-( :-D
so --no expert here - :dunce: :-)

but logic says that 9 PM EST = 6 PM west coast time -
so that would be convenient for all the USA bidders

Good point 6-9pm end time. Anyday? Fridays?

I usually list my items in the middle of the week in the middle of the day because of boredom at work  .

I would say end on a saturday, that would be best time... :-D But you know yourself these are hit or miss unless you get lucky like selling that Maggy 8300 for $60 plus shipping that was insane, but you got lucky

I looked and there was only one other yellow one up at the time and had a bid of $30 on it already..... I started mine at $30 with the $60 BIN. Definetly got lucky but only listed it because there was only one other yellow 8300. That isn't even a picture of mine, it was just a stock photo from yahoo img search  .

Friday and Saturday nights are when most people who "go out" do so.... While you think "payday" might make a difference, I have not found that to be the case. When I used to sell a lot of camera gear, I noticed a trend that auctions ending on Tuesday or Wednesday night, at around 10-11pm east coast time would get me the best bid activity and thus the highest final bid amount. Most people are usually at home on Tuesday and Wednesday night...

Sunday night is better than Saturday night.

During football season, avoid Mondays and Thursdays.

So your that seller?

I am blu_fuz everywhere! That is the first (and last) time I will list an item without my own pictures. I honestly didn't think it would sell that quick or someone would ask for more pics.

I didn't have a pic of mine at the time and I was bored but wanted to list it.... Luck was on my side for that one.

That's always been my impression so most of my auctions ended on Sunday night. I'm sure it makes some difference what kinds of items your selling as well but that's a study beyond me.

Agree with Sunday night. That's when everybody's home after a busy weekend, and they've got some time to kill before work starts up in the morning. Even my ISP slows down on Sunday night (bad for eBay sniping), so I'll go out on a limb and say it's one of the busiest computing times of the week.

Auctions selling 1/2 off seems to be the normal thing lately.

I'm watching more items this month, ones with a low start bid, because I've seen a few that ended without bid, or too low.

To pass the time, here are some that sold low recently:

Nak BX-150 near mint With professional Service: 42$
[ebay]320613491215[/ebay]

A pair of professional Denon DN-610F CD/tape players for 100$
[ebay]280584655938[/ebay]

SANYO M-X920 for 100$
[ebay]170560345991[/ebay]

well..the Sanyo did need a lot of work.

Anyway, I cant tell you as a seller when to have the auction end. But I can say as a buyer that I don't like a listing that ends Sunday night, because I'm usually competing with others. :-)
