Any thoughts on what are the best minis out there?

It's the one thing my collection really needs, a nice, shiny mini but i've never looked into them much so wouldn't know where to start.

Pics would be great as well as any feedback. If anyone is selling anything nice hit me up with a PM

The Sanyo M-7900K could be considered one of the most desirable minis to own. It has lots of knobs and switches, twin aerials, and classic looks.

But, the Sansui FX-500 was voted Best Mini at the 2010 Sunshine Mix. :-D

All the way with RBJ on this one! Cutest mini by far is the Philips/Magnavox Roller, which came in two designs and lots of color combos...

And the Sanyo 7900 is definitely the most serious mini I've had the pleasure of owning (altho it pushes the limits of "mini" somewhat, since it's not super small... more like a "midi"). Big-time sound, dual antennas, lots of controls, and very heavy (for its size). Came in some AKA's, too. (C'mon RBJ, show us your Portland!) Here's my Japan version in blue... (Sorry about the load of Cliff's Notes in the photo. Not a very classy background! But they got me through high school and college, so I've still got 'em.)

I bought a Sanyo mini from Sin a while back... I gave it away as a gift, but this thing was VERY nice, black, low profile, dual cassette, and a very unique speaker design where the s faced both forward and upward... Don't recall the model number.

I'd guess it was this one a M WS400?

Also watch out for RX-C20's and if someone can post the little Sony with the APM speakers...

To give you an idea of how small the FX-700 is (it's smaller than the FX-500) look at this...

Don't get me wrong. There are lots of nice looking mini's out there. But to my ears, and I want to qualify by saying I have not heard them all, Sanyo's sound ooo sooo very good. Sound is so sweet, louder than you would expect from such a small box, good stereo separation..........
