Ok, let me just say that this is my first post on this forum and I know absolutely nothing about boomboxes. My grandparents retired and moved to Italy a few years back and basically took everything they wanted with them and left a bunch of crap for me to put in storage/get rid of/sell. One of the items, which actually has a pretty funny story as to how my grandpa acquired it is a huge Berecha 1000 watt boombox. It's been sitting in their spare bedroom on top of a dresser for the past 30 or so years. This thing is pretty awesome and I'm considering keeping it and buying some cassettes for it and rocking out, but at the same time I would like to know how much this thing is worth. I know for a fact that it has not been turned on or used for at least 20-30 years. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I can tell nobody listens to that box, the sound quality would be real poor with the equalizer set like that... :-/

It sounds like this is turning into a "for sale" thread and in danger of disappearing.

Nothing is for sale. I just had no idea what I had found and can't find much information on the internet about it and this seemed like the best place to find it. And seriously, if this thing is only worth around $100 like others had said I'd rather keep it as a conversation piece, if it was worth a pretty penny, then I'd prob throw it up on ebay.

It's a pretty cool looking box if you mount it up high at eye level so that you can see the chrome speaker trim reflecting the light. Otherwise it looks like ass IMO.

There's a dude on the west coast who's had his on Ebay for probably months. There's no way it'll fetch what he wants ($1,500), but I'm sure someone will eventually make him a sufficient offer. I'm gonna guess he'll get maybe $200-250 tops, considering the damage it has. Here's the auction:

I reckon the actual Berecha model defecates from the stratosphere on my model, in the looks department.
But it's all personal taste.
Mine is in virtually brand new condition though, I even had to peel all the protective film off all the stickers when I got her (much to son_apm_fan and RockE's complete horror).

Rock On.

Well in all honesty there is no real info on prices for any vintage Boombox's on the Internet. A boombox is worth what the seller and buyer agrees to  which can go anywhere from free to thousands of dollars ;-)

The one with white speakers is pimp.......someone here has one, I remember the pics

But again, ya gotta be looking at it heads-on, so you can see all the chrome trim.........Otherwise it looks like a load of plain black plastic
