Beer, Emails, and a i931

I took a trip to the beer store yesterday. When I got back in the car I took my phone out of my pocket and decided to check my emails. I was so busy at work that I had almost forgot that I had emailed a local seller earlier in the morning. Apparently he replied with an address at 10:39 a.m. I emailed him back and took a chance on the 5 minute drive, thinking the whole time that I had waited too long and it was gone. When I got to the door, I could see it through the sidelight on the hall floor. We talked for about 2 minutes and I was on my way home with a 12 pack of Miller Light, Cool Ranch Doritos, Nathan's Chili Fries, and a i931.



I was surprised how light it was. It's missing the battery cover and remote but it's in great shape. I'll take care of those issues in the coming days. My foam for my Pioneer CK3 will be here today, so I've got to get cracking on that first. One thing at a time.

It's a true fact that Lasonic outsourced the building of their i931's to Fisher Price, hence the lightness...

But I really can't complain, considering I got it on the cheap.
It's loud enough...It's got that going for it. I've never really been into the Lasonics. I was really hoping that maybe picking one up would bring me around. C'est la vie.

I actually use mine a lot, it's not hi-fi, but for the living area it's fine. The best part: shove a USB stick full of mp3s into it and you've got an instant party.

what makes it funny is that it's true .my i931 ain't been out of the box in 4 years .no cassette player means no use lol.

I have a feeling the i931 will be released back into the wild in the coming weeks. I was listening to it for a little while, working on my CK-3 speakers. Now I'm waiting for glue to dry, sitting on my front steps, drinking one of the said beers, listening to my iPod on my M9990.
I'll post the latest line-in mod on that radio next time I open it up.
*Hint: 20 minutes, 2 jumpers, and it involves the timer. Very simple, completely reversible, and completely undetectable. You don't even need to remove the chassis. But I digress...
