bill a certain amount of trc 935's came from the factory without the foam covering the woofers.the ones that have the foam over the woofers also have cross braces that run across the front of the woofers to keep the foam in place .

Thanks jvc floyd I'm in love with the 99 and I just got the 6 and I was surprise with the sound that came out of those little speakers. Bill that's how mine came I was thinking the same thing about the covers and I didn't see them in the box

i just love the cfs 85 for its classic looks,high end quality and i expect it has awesome sound.....and the cfs 6?never seen one before,kind of like the massive silver space master but in minature-just look at those great meters on it

The sound is nowhere close to being "awesome" but it's very good tho & I'd still recommend getting one.
