I want to thank all of Boomboxery for your feedback and support on the BB-777 project. I got involved with the project to make sure it was done right for the collector community. Most of us have been waiting a couple of decades for a proper retro boombox. To Bumpboxx's credit they really listened and invested big money to get this right. I truly love the final result. Thanks to the success of this project the next one is already in the works...

The next project is a version of the M90 ?

The M90 was definitely discussed. Can't say just yet but the boombox community will LOVE the next project. Trust me...
The M90 should at least be kind of easy as they could use the data of "New Wave Toys". As far as I remember the 777 also started as their (NWT) project. Now they seem to disappear, whatever has happened at them.

Whatever the next project may be, I hope for something that fits my personal taste. M70 would also be fine to me or RC-550 which could be paired to stereo speakers. :D

They said there will be material with the announcement in the box of the BB-777 when it ships in a few months. We will have to wait until then to find out.

I read the Conion a few times but that was only people guessing around. I don't know if the Conion would be equally successful because it's not that much internationally known. I too would love the M70 but I think for now they seem to be going after the grails which makes sense.

For me, the GF 777 was the perfect box for this project, I knew rightaway that I will buy it when I first read about it on here.

Wouldn't logic/soft touch tape controls be kind of difficult to do with todays cassette mech? I'm just speculating, but if it can be done, like Teac did with their latest deck, it would add a fair bit of cost on.

A little inside info...Discussions for these projects hovered around our ability to include very important features while keeping the design and size identical to the original. For the C100, we would have to have the alarm, digital display tape movement, slide in cassette and traditional tape door, and true 3 way sound. As a collector I also let the sound engineers know the C100F has a completely different character than the BB-777 project. Over the top volume and a rawness to it's sound. It would be more refined if we do it but those characteristics must be there as well. The M90 would need a far more refined sound focusing on tonal accuracy and clean presentation. Soft touch tape controls with music search and a functioning remote control are a must as well.

We are actually actively searching for a company to do soft touch controls for a future project.
Look no further! The TEAC W-1200 has soft touch controls...you don't just need to look at Boomboxes. They just need to buy one and copy the design and/or contact the company that makes them...Perhaps even consult TEAC!
