Mailman has my phone number and alerts me about the big box. I follow the mailman James and meet at a place near my house.
Then hide it in the SUV and bring it in when wife is away! Saves me from lots of trouble! FedEx and UPS get me in big trouble.
Life is an adventure!
It’s easier for me. Whenever a new box arrives, I just pretend likeI’m fixing it for Royce. :w00t:

From the very beginning, I've been wondering:
Which model would you choose if the Sharp company decided to revive
this boombox and make something similar to this ?

This looks so cool , Sharp missed out now thanks to Bumpboxx
I wonder how the people from Sharp feel now

The molds alone were $250k. That doesn't include the research and development to get to the current prototype. They've been spending money on this project for 9 months with zero return. Kickstarter allows recouping of funds, a discount for early buyers, and the company can start manufacturing a finished product without being so far in the red. Even if successful it's a huge financial gamble.
I’ll vouch for the price of the molds. I designed and built robots for a living. The last robot model my company built had 3 injection molded body panels plus several other smaller molds for small plastic parts. The robot was about the size of a carry-on suitcase and the molds totaled over $250K and they weren’t even steel molds. Aluminum was all we could afford. After a couple hundred injections the molds were toast.
Bumpbox has some coin tied up in molds alone.

I would love to see them do something like this except keep the speakers and the grill section black and continue with gold chrome dust covers on the woofers and gold chrome rings around the horns and outer speaker trim.

Is the red one going to chrome or gold accents? I know aesthetics are objective, but damn is that gold HORRIBLE. Looks like the fake gold jewelry vendor at a swap meet.
I was leaning towards the red over silver but I’m not down with the gold Mr. T version.

That guy had it custom-painted and re-labeled. It's not a factory version like he tries to make people believe.

It's hard to say what the final production will be on those. This was just a photo I saw. It certainly is an aquired taste. I posted it because it is a general reference of what a Red box would look like but isn't an indication as to what the final BB777 production will be. I am sure they will select themes that gain the most popularity based on the surveys they post here and there.

My position has changed on the red box tbh. I really don't care what additional themes and colors they go with now because I have decided I am going to go with the traditional silver with chrome accents. The reason is, I do not have a GF777 and I would like it to look as authentic as possible in my collection.

Agree. I can’t afford two, so I’d want the silver one. Closest to the original.
