No...The M90 Killer started out from my comment that the 9962 is the 'poor man's M90'. It gave you most of the M90 feeling but not the power....

I believe I heard Ira refer to it as the "poor man's M90" 7 or 8 years ago. That's what made me get mine back then.

Sorry for my ignorant but does anyone willing to tell me how good the BB40's sound and especially, built quality is. I guess it's in the very top of 1 piece box considering sound, isn't it? But what about the built quality? From looking, black and white 80s boxes always make me feel light and cheap.

I have some big Toshiba (two RT-S90s and a S87) and although I'm very impressed with their look & sound; I must admit I're REALLY Disappointed with their built quality. Feeling cheap and empty, in fact my Toshibas is the ones that got the most problems, issues. Their built quality is much far away form National, Aiwa etc

It was just OK to me ... there are a lot of other radios I would prefer over it but I guess it's how rare the box is....

The BB40 is a very good box. The build quality is good the shell is robust. Stronger than S90 which is great sounding but delicate but temperamental. The third speaker on the BB40 gives it a good range. It's definitely up there with the best 8 inchers.
Apart from one Larsen Q100 (J1) I don't really buy the big black cheapie boxes.
