Im trying to get good lighting, backgound etc with just things that can be utilised from around the home.

I spent about an hour yesterday trying to get some good shots but they all looked pants :annoyed:

Ive got an Fujifilm 12mp camara.

Any tips welcome

Tripod + fully manual exposure settings.

Set up a tripod.

Use lowest ISO setting you can.

Use remote or self timer to prevent you moving the camera during exposure (so you can use slow shutter speeds)

Set aperture to F5.6

Vary the shutter speeds until you get the exposure with the detail you like.

For creative effect, tilt the camera every now and then to take off-angle shots. :)

Learn about the "rule of thirds" (google it)
