Back from the dead :D

Last year I was boomin' one of my GF-515s at a riverside on a floating platform when suddenly a few pals came aboard and the whole thing went underwater for an instant - including my Sharp. I grabbed it and took out the batteries as fast as I could but of course it was too late. I let the box rest and the next day I tried again - nothing. I was pretty sad, a pretty cool box destroyed by such a stupid incident :thumbsdown:

Since then it rested in my room - until today. I planned to take it apart to repair another Sharp but when I plugged it in it was working just like it used to do :w00t:

That's awesome!...it can take hours of work to resurrect a dead box so its great to not have to do anything! :-D

Definitely very lucky!!! That just brought up an old memory of mine...I remember one time I wanted a new cellphone, but my old one was still working and I knew my wife at the time would give me heartache over getting one. So I decided to drop it in toilet. Pulled it out and the sum of a beach still worked.. Then I stuck it in sink full of water for 10 minutes and still it freaken worked. I gave up on water and just put a little piece of tape over battery end. Worked like a charm!!! Lol. Sorry for stealing thread ;-)

I agree. Just be careful. Hopefully it will not be like Pet Sematary by Stephen King. :lol: :lol: :blink:

WOW, that's amazing!

In the past, with small electronics like cell phones, if they get dunked, put them in a zip lock bag full of rice. The rice will pull all the moisture out of the device, leave it for a few days to a week and your good to go!

Yes I've known people to do this but I couldn't even get it to stop working. Lol

My son dunked his iPhone...I now collect those little packets of granules you get in with shoe etc as they work a treat to suckin the moisture out...iPhone came back from the dead too :-)
