Back cover coloring question

Hey everyone, I've been cross referencing some Conion's that I found and I have seen that the backs for some are yellowish-gray, and others are a normal gray color. Could someone who has better knowledge than me enlighten me on why this is? ThanksScreenshot 2025-11-17 11.41.37 AM.png

There are chemicals in the plastic to reduce flammability that break down over time and turn yellow.
It happens slower if the plastic is kept out of warm temperatures and sunlight, which is why some are yellower than others.
You can get rid of it but it takes some effort. Google for "retrobrite"

Does removing the color damage the Radio?
