This looks the same box that Ira brought and posted about never receiving, the condition of the original carton and stains on the manual + the missing tuner knob suggest it is the same one. Different seller ID, same location (Berkeley is on the edge of Lake Illawarra)

I would advise to avoid this at all cost, you would probably never see it they now say they won't accept paypal

I have sent an message asking why it was never shipped last time and I am going to report it for not accepting paypal :evilmad:

That's some nice investigative work. I wonder if it's a scam they are running or if Ira's seller sold the box to the new seller before the auction ended? The stains on the manual are the "nail in the coffin" so to speak.

The seller has two ID's/accounts is my guess, they use a slightly different location to try and hide it I doubt a local in the small area of the seller would buy at such a high $$ value to flip.

They are trying to scam by stating they don't accept paypal.

Has the symbol because they can't finish a listing without selecting one of three "safe" payment methods. Paypal/paymate or merchant CC are the safe payment methods on ebay.au, if none is selected the listing can't be completed and sent "live"

Second last line on the listing "No Paypal Sorry"

If this was the case why would the current seller not just say he recently brought it when questioned, I think the seller is the same person and didn't ship it to Ira because he quoted the cost to low and would have been stung. Shipping costs changes daily in Oz, a quote one day is different the next and sometimes by quite a large amount.

I don't doubt the unit exists but the seller is a it's the no paypal that is ringing alarm bells and I think proves this seller is just wanting to scam. I also doubt a "local" from that small area would buy an expensive box to flip, don't make sense to me. The new seller is trying to avoid the issue around the last sale of the box, I sent a message stating it is the same box (tuner knob, stains on manual etc..) and he refuses to address the similarities between the listings.

there is alot more involved here than the seller simply decided to sell it to this ' new' re-seller ( if thats what happened ? )

my US$1080 was all his for 43 days !!! :annoyed:
he lied about shipping it to me :annoyed: :annoyed:
and sent a FAKE tracking number :annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed:

finally - paypal did send me the refund --

asking --do any of you guys know if i can // should go for some legal actions ??

There is legal precedent here in Au for making sellers hand over goods, ebay is considered the same as any auction and is a binding contract between two parties. IMHO not worth following up.

I sent a message to the "new" seller saying he had halved the value of the unit by alienating the collecting community I suggest more members report the listing by selecting -

listing practices
banned or inappropriate payment methods
the listing has misleading payment terms or it discourages buyers from using accepted payment methods.

The more people that report the item the more likely ebay will take action
