Are all Telefunken Studios the same?

I have a 1 (not the 1M), and I can change the voltage by removing the back cover and moving the fuse, changing it from 220V to 110V. Is that true for the 1M as well, or is that model 220V only?

I would pretty much think so but I can't confirm at the moment - I'm not at home. I'm sure though someone else can check :-)

Cool, so even though it only says 220V on the back cover, you can take off of the cover and move the fuse to the 110 position, right?

You will have to take the rear cover off to see if the fuses are configurable.
Not sure if they are all international.
Although most hi fi I have seen have German and English writing.
I could only assume all are selectable voltage.

Well now mine is a Studio 1 and it's 120v on back of unit :hmmm: If my memory serves though there are 2 fuses inside that if placed differently you can run 220v, but I'm not 100% sure. But if you take back off you can see if it's possible to do. If needed I can always check mine :yes:

Nah, I already have a 1 and I know it's possible with that, but I'm thinking of buying a 1M so I'm wondering if its fuses are configured the same way.

Yep, my 1M has the fuses configured in exactly the way you describe.

Hey with my 1M the VU meters only move when it's playing a tape and not when I use line in or radio, is that the same with yours?

Yeah same, wish they moved all the time!

If you're having a party you can always chuck a tape in and hit record then pause it, so they're moving but nothings being recorded.

I have five main units and it's the same with all of them. Hence the superb and massive build quality I don't think that's a defect but that that's the way it always was. Too bad :-/

Yeah I did think that was just the way they are. No harm in checking. Good idea about hitting record/pause, anything to make it look a bit cooler huh?

Yeah... you could also rip out the tape of a spare cheap cassette to have a "dummy" cassette. No need to pause, no need to worry you accidentally record and the tape will never stop.

Should also be possible to re-wire it to trick it into thinking it's always recording. :hmmm:

Hp-800 has led vu and if I remember right they move all the time not just with cassette.
You can ask fat dog or ford as they both have them. Bobby has my old one
