Just got this 1978 Eaton Viking 10" Portable 8761-10C Television a few days ago from the original owner, for FREE !
It is a thing a beauty ! It also comes with original manuals.
I think it is a very rare TV because it was sold by a Canadian Company Eaton's.
It is made in Japan as well.

Yes, we can still get regular cable, no digital box needed.
We cannot get Free over the air analog transmission anymore though.

Gotta agree with Ira here. I have the very first Sony Watchman, but it really is a novelty at best. Collecting a few special or unique designs like the globes, etc. may make sense though. :hmmm:

Cool Eaton! I don't collect them but I just bought a super cool near mint Sony KV-8100 8" small Trinitron 3 way voltage TV!! This thing is so cool, cool led meter uhf tuning inside a hidden panel and a rare tinted removable cover! Of course vintage 1981'!! :)
This thing works great!! I have a portable battery powered VHS player that i can hook up to it and I also hooked it up to my TV converter abd was amazed how clear this thing is!! When I hooked it up to a DVD player it was so clear-unreal!!
Got it at Goodwill for $4.98!!! :)

After the ending of analog tv, the most ones have been dumped :bang:
I still keep one of those portables, but a b/w version

Just recently someone dumped a massive SONY 40-inch flat CRT Trinitron
I tried to move it half inch... it would not move, very heavy.
Made just before the new flat-screens came out.
That would have been an odd relic to keep

I run the 32" version of that Sony which has the pure flat screen face but isn't a projection set. It's not clocked up that many hours according to the service menu and the tube's still hard. It was state of the art back in 2003 though its digital tuner is only 2K rather than the current 8K spec so only has 99 channels instead of the 300 that are shewn in an 8K menu, plus it has to be tuned manually these days but this doesn't phase me massively as I use it with a twin tuner myth box to take full advantage of its HD picture, one of only a fistful of CRTs that can render HD. ISTR that getting it from the car into the room where it stays involved a sack barrow, several old blankets to act as soft sliding surfaces, an engine crane to get it over the thresh and from the floor onto its stand.

Thank goodness my house has no stair!

This is my only analog tv left.
Keep it in my gardenhouse, but what for...?
