Hi everyone,

Here's my first boombox of 2014. I found this advertised online unbelievably cheap, so went for it. I'll start with the unboxing pics.

Not a very big box for what's inside

Among the worst packing I've seen, hope the boombox is OK

First glimpse, and no protection to the sides

Looks OK, thankfully it suffered no damage at all

Proline PTX 2000. It's one of the budget 777 clones, it's complete and very clean

Size comparison with the Sharp GF-777Z

It's similar to the Emerson CTR 965, but without the loudness button and stereo wide. It's fully working, and actually sounds pretty nice. The 5 band graphic equalizer is very responsive. It has more bass than I expected it to have, and it has a proper line-in.

I'm very pleased with it, and it cost less than £20 shipped.

I know Simon, when I saw how small the box was, I was turning it upside down listening for rattling components! Thankfully it was in one piece!
