Thats cool you got the build sheet, as it states, she was built in Van Nuys, Ca where I grew up and did all my blasting as a kid. Used to walk the rail road tracks behind the factory blasting tunes and watch the rail cars full of new Camaro's roll out and dream. That is where all Camaro's and Fire Birds were built until the factory closed in 1985. I remember how devastating it was to the community. GM donated a white Z28 preproduction training car to my high school for us to work on. My teacher never let us near it.

In high school I had 2 friends with these cars, one a 1973 Formula with a blazing 455 cid. That was one of the fastest cars I have ever been in. He painted it black with polished Center Line wheels

The other was a yellow 1979 T/A with a 400 and a 4 speed. Also very fast.

Maybe one day....

the problem is, California are straight up smog Nazi's and anything newer than 1976 has to meet unreal smog test standards. As ridiculous as it is, they have tighted up the pollution numbers on old cars, meaning they have to run cleaner than they were when they came from the factory basically forcing them off the road. I am having this problem with my Ferrari. I have had to smog the car 3 times since owning it (every 2 years) and each time the target numbers have gotten lower. In fact my car is sitting unregistered right now after failing 3 smog tests in a row last year after spending over $1500 replacing both distributor caps and rotors ($550), spark plugs and wires ($800), plus doing an oil change, air filter and a few more bits. The sucky part is, this is the best the car has ever run. The tail pipes are clean and it smells clean, runs like a raped ape....NO PASS!

Enjoy that beautiful Pontiac....I still love those machined dash boards....just so cool
