These past two weeks i stumbled upon 2 Alex's . A back to back find of
an ALEX A-91 and an ALEX A-98 . Both are akas of the Lasonic TRC-920
and the Lasonic TRC-918 . I am also missing the battery cover of the Lasonic TRC-918 AKA
and the power knob from the Lasonic TRC-920 AKA. If anybody has parts for them please contact me.

Anyway, enough with my bla-bla here are some pics of them from when i found them :

He'll 2 of the best sounding mid-size boxes you can own plus they're rare I love the Tweeter grills on that 918 . Both are f****** awesome. But these boxes are equally badass sounding.

Floyd, you are so right. The 918 is probably the most underrated mid sized radio there is. REALLY solid bass. They sell for next to nothing on eBay and I think because the looks don't POP like other Lasonic's, people just count them out. But they POUND!
AND YES, great grills on that Alex 918

Wow I had no clue there were ANY aka's of these models, very cool
They are rebadged Lasonics . They re the exact same machines as the Lasonic TRC-920 and the Lasonic TRC-918 . Maybe what Reli said is the answer , they wanted to rebadge them as ALEX's for reasons of better selling back then.
Oh i have another rebadged TRC-920 in my collection. A Sonic without the prefix LA.
Here it is :

Maybe the word "Lasonic" is too similar to a dirty word in some language?

Like trying to sell a Chevy "Nova" in Mexico was stupid.
