I am restoring one of my GX570D deck and fixing the reel motor problems.
The take up reel motor was stopping after a 90-degree turn.

I took out the motor and cleaned up the commutator and brush. Now in the process of putting, it back together.
In the past I used synthetic oil for these motors. I have the white lithium grease also. I have both.

What would be the best for motors and also for the capstan bearings.

Let me know your thoughts.

My 2 cents:
For capstans I've always used synthetic.
For the motors, I'd put a drop on the shaft and run it with my DC supply for a little bit then wipe the excess off.
I have a lube bottle with a long needle like dispenser on it.
I believe I use Amsoil straight 30 weight oil.

Success! I fixed it.
Had to open both take up reel motor and supply reel motor and clean the commutator.
Used synthetic oil for capstan bearings and motor bearings.
The main double capstan motor is a big brushless motor. It is whisper quiet!
