You know what I like BEST about this radio...Like me, it has GIVEN UP on FM radio! Like me, it understands that Clear Channel, the company that owns all the radio station in the United States SUCKS and there is no reason EVER to tune in!

Looking forward to a full review when your's shows up.

I am buying it by it's proposed specs. The look is wicked awesome. I love the TDK. But it just comes up a little short on power. I hope AIWA pushes it further. TDK specs are 35 watts output, AIWA claims 200 watt output. Which to me is likely divided by its 5 drivers. A guestimate of 50 watt for sub, 40 each speaker and perhaps 35 per tweeter would bee more than what the TDK pushes. Guess I'll know in October

Ha ha, they posted an April Fools version of it on Twitter. Nice rendering, wish it was real!

Looks like my old paper shredder. It even has the same type of rear handle!
'Aiwa' really needed to go with that shape to get the ideal cabinet dimensions for BASS!
I can respect the function over form concept.

I bet it cranks with all the specs listed. Quick swap out battery concept is a great feature for day long sound events.

Looking forward to a user review!!

at least it has some kind of line in. With no tuner or even a CD player leaves you with having to keep thinking of tunes to stream. I like to let music run it self sometimes.

must sat i like this one , it has a pleasing shape and it does look like a modern 880 , i think aiwa's on the right track , just wish they would put a real handle on it .

Honestly it's not the kind of box you'd carry on the street anyway. Just doesn't have that kind of style.

I am in love but my wallet unfortunately is not. :-/ Great that they resurrected the spirit of the 880. :chris920:

D class amps are all about fantastic sound quality and extreme efficiency. 1/7th the power consumption of a similar output AB amp - wouldn't Boombox manufacturers back in the day have loved to have that tech in '78?!

Anyone out there who hasn't experienced a modern portable D class amp should give one a listen - amazing stuff!
