Aiwa CS 880 Aux in mode, scraping noise

Hi,

my Aiwa 880 arrived this week, radio works great, tape needs new belts, nothing is damaged, no parts missing. Nearly all good, but.......

........connecting an MP3 Player on the back I can turn volume knob even to max, and the only thing i can hear is a quiet scratchy noise , what did I need to check ?

Can someone give me a hint ?

there might be a coulple of things bad connection bad solder joints and numorus others, check your cables first then make sure you are in line in try another source a cd player , that way you know its not a cable or something

Don't forget the simple things like the selector switch. Try a simple cleaning treatment with DeOxit on the switch first to see if it makes any difference.

On certain boxes not only does line in have to be selected
you have to press record on the tape deck in order to get the line in to work.
Its like that on my Crown 850. So there might not be anything wrong at all.
