Someone at work the other day mentioned their releasing a new album and joked about how it tanks the economy when they do. I checked and he was right, at least for the UK. 1973 before the oil crisis, 1980 before 20% UK unemployment, 1990 before a UK recession, and 2008 before a global recession.
