:-D Goodnorning folks, Can anyone tell me how many ohms, Watts, And a link so I can order these fine looking gold cap center woofers. I was at J boogies home and heard the TDK boombox, My jaw just dropped :jawdrop: of how good this box really sounds with a stuning deep bass at full volume with no distortion. Now is this box sounds this good with a single subwoofer providing great bass I can only imagine with 4 of these subs in a Sharp GX-88 and with the gold cap it would be a stuning looker. :-D
Can anyone help. :-D

I'll see if I can help ya out this afternoon. I finally got my TDK 3-speaker a few days ago (from my friend the Imation employee who got with his discount for less than half price :-D ) Finally getting to open it now so I'll see if it says anything about the sub specs.

Box has been sitting by me for days now, and you know I'm a nerd in that I was even debating if I should keep it NIB. I'm not a fan having a great toy and not using it vs thinking it'll be worth more in 20-30 years like a NIB M90 or something. OK, time to open. There goes the neighborhood.

Well that didn't take long to find. Last page of the manuel.

Sub is 6 ohms and 15w, and 2 speakers are are 4ohms and 10w.
Never heard that these only take dc in and have the external transformer. You telling me there's no room to have it inside and then just take a normal ac plug? I'm sure someone might know why they might do that. Wonder if anyone on the board has dared to open one up. Gotta be one real small board, some big ass magnets and probably looks as good inside as out with no mechanical mess and rotted out cassette belts in it like we are used to seeing.

Damn this is one dare i say 'sexy' boombox. Only saw/used it once before real quick.

I opened my 2 speaker tdk boombox. Very difficult. There were like 16 screws hidden behind that front black plexi. There is a sticky thread on it.

Of course I had to take a couple quick pics of my new TDK using my crappy cam indoors. Just thought of a 'concept' that might be kinda cool as I was taking an angled shot. As I was aiming to take the shot, the highly reflective gloss face of the TDK was showing me a pretty cool reflection. Check it below.

It'd be cool to do a little photo shoot of the TDK, but setup some 'grails' in the reflection. Kind of showing a 'before and now' concept. Anyone else feel free to take that concept on run with it. I'll see what I can come up with

Oh, and good lord this bad boy sounds sick. Like I have a 10 inch sub box in my office now. Sub looks to bounce an inch when it's getting after it.

And hadn't heard this before, but the volume goes to 11! F'n hilarious. Is that a spinal tap reference, or why else would they do that? As far as I've seen, all other boxes that use numbers go to 10, or 100 like the various Conions. Too funny.

So.... has anyone bought the Cube yet? I haven't seen it, but it looks like it'd be a guitar amp or something. After finding out the employee price for these TDK items, I feel like I have to get the Cube too. Just so different and assume it's very much like the boombox and is bada**.

Don't leave batteries in it because the die in 3 days even with the boombox off!

Also, if you really can get a tdk cube for employee price, let me know because I want to get the wife one!

i had the Cube.. excellent sound.. but these TDK's have one major flaw which made me sell mine.. no remote.. didnt think it was gonna bother me but it did.. alot.. so went back to my JVC Kaboom.. until i got the Sharp GX-88Z done.. now i use that..

Unless it's a wired remote for a vintage box, I'd leave the remotes for the home entertainment systems myself. :-D
