Had the chance to find one of the rarest boomboxes ever, it' s a Philips : the first one with a cd player included; mine is supposed to be in excellent to mint, and 100% fully working !!! woah!!

Wish those could be found around here. I'm probably one of the few members here that really like CD & never use the cassette. So that thing would be right up my alley. The yellow backlit display is a megabonus!

I bought one too, but with one broken speaker, is on a ship to Poland right now, I supposed to get it in 4-6 weeks
I still wonder if sony cfd-5 is first to have a cd player, it's look like cfd-5, Toshiba RT-7095 and Panasonic cd rx70 all came in 1985. Do you have a date on this Philips? I have Philips catalog with this boombox, but it's from 1986.

yes it's from 1986, so maybe it's the world's first PHILIPS to include a cd player,as i think Sony was the 1st one actually, anyway we all know Philips and Sony worked hand in hand to launch the Compact Disc so who cares...

just love the look of this boombox,philips have a mixed reputation among collectors i know,but,you cant hide the fact that some of their radios were wicked-cool-an this is one of them-just scored yesterday a d8554 and all i can say is damn but this one looks

Damn I completely forgot to post about this one... just because it arrived completely broken-cd and tape- just kept the speakers arrgggh!!!!!
the lady had told me it was 100% working but all the buttons were pushed in, cd player wouldn't work, a complete disappointment, I was so pissed off !!! she never wanted to refund me the b***h
anyway...
since then i scored another nice one, fully working this time : the D8892

I love the look of this one but it's also doesn't sound good I have one, but I want to keep it in my collection, another one is broken.
