Hello Friends,

As promised some pics from the new boxes i got this weekend and the weekend before:

I bought myself a PANASONIC DX20 complete with the manual and remote control. Its a nice box with a decent sound. The next one is a SHARP GF4500 a little one with a nice sound but only works on batteries. Further i bought myself a Continental Edison RC 5090 a really nice French Box which is also known as a NORDMENDE or a JVC box, (the specific model numbers i will look for later) and is in perfect working order and plays like it just came out of the store. I also bought a PHILIPS 8718 and another PHILIPS where the sliders are missing from..this box is going to be the first one i am gonna paint.

The knobs from the 8718 were worn so i decided to give them a touch of paint. Silver and Gold always go together so after i cleaned them and sprayed them with primer i finished the job with a touch of Gold. I think it has worked out well..here are some pics:

Reminds me of the golden optic of the discolite.

While some might say this looks cheesy, I think it looks kinda cool. The rest of the body needs to be painted too now though

Wow! I would have never guessed that JVC would allow a rebadge of one of their models. Cool score!

Thanks, It is basicly a french rebadge from a Nordmende RK 4186 which is a rebadged JVC with the exception that the first two are more luxury than the JVC because they both have 6 presets for the FM which the JVC lacks. In the French edition everything is renamed in French..so the FM is the MF etc. The sound is very good and really everything works, even the cassettedeck sounds like new, the meters are working as they should..i like it very much!

Great collection of radios! The Biphonic is awesome and the Gold knobs look cool....nice mod!

Glad to hear your VZ is working again, got to keep that deoxit spray away from the tuner board!

the difference between a kid and adult
the kid would have used a gold paint pen
but as adults we can now buy spray cans :breakdance: :breakdance:
