hello all as you can tell i have been on the hunt...lol well i came across this one yesterday..omg was this thing filthy was sitting in a basement for 30 years so of course i bought it and this is where the fun begins.....i completly disasembled radio removing grills chassis and the speakers...good news was it powered up tape functions work all light up except belts are no good......used deoxit on switches and i have to say after about 12hrs of work yhis little radio really impressed me sound is awesome for such a small box but wow factor here are some pics the befores and the afters......enjoy

great job on the restoration! one question. how did you get the speakers grills off? mine could do with a clean/paint.

I really like those in Black. It's one of my favorite looking Sanyos. Those woofers speaker caps are huge. I say this cause I might have your Chrome caps if you want a pair. PM me ;-) Oh, and "DIBS" btw :-D

This era of Sanyo is the best era of Sanyo. I think this was the second real blaster I found. There's something about the styling of this radio with its green backlight and chrome that makes it feel like it belongs on the set of some movie about a submarine lol. Cool score. Will always be one of my favorite models. If the house was on fire I'd be leaving with that before the m70.
