I wanted a C-9 for years but honestly never thought I would get one, even off of eBay since you hardly ever see them. You never know what your going to find until it happens, you just have to keep looking.
Well I am way late to this one regarding a response but...yes, the C7 handle will work. Plus someone mentioned the speakers were 3 ways...they aren't. They are two way bass reflex.
I'll let others comment on my "Pitbull". (Credits to a special friend in Tampa for the nickname...)

Thanks Freddie and you are correct I about the C7, my C9 now proudly wears a C7 handle thanks to NZ BOOM.
