Today I had to go to a store that's about 30 minutes from home which just happens to have a Goodwill near it that I rarely go to because it's out of the way and I rarely ever find anything at all. Since I was in the area I stopped by just to check and the moment I could see the electronics isle on the back wall my eyes locked on to something I couldn't believe, a Sanyo C-9 in pretty good shape. The only problem is it's missing the handle but I still didn't hesitate to drop the $20 bill for it. I don't know if the C-7 handle fits the C-9 but I really need the handle now, if anybody has any information or even a handle they are willing to part with let me know. :-D

nice way to spend 20 bucks , don

here are some legendary repair tips:

1. have a big // nasty cigar dimple = apply a sticker.
2. have no handle = use a rope

Great tip Ira, do you know where to find a chrome rope?

I should also note that it's missing the cable cover on the back so if anybody has one of those just laying around I could use it, they are after all a common part in every one's parts bin right?

Great find! How does it sound?

It sounded great in the store but I won't be able to play with it at home for a few weeks, I'm spending my free time getting ready for a vacation I'm taking in a few days.

That would be great if you do.
I wanted a C-9 for years but honestly never thought I would get one, even off of eBay since you hardly ever see them. You never know what your going to find until it happens, you just have to keep looking. :-)

The C4's cable covers probably don't fit, do they? I would have those in stock for you.
(Or does the C4 even have covers?)

Good question, I wouldn't think it would be the same even if it had the cover but I'll look into it. My thought is that only the C-7 and C-9 parts are interchangeable but I could be wrong. :hmmm:

Well I am way late to this one regarding a response but...yes, the C7 handle will work. Plus someone mentioned the speakers were 3 ways...they aren't. They are two way bass reflex.

I'll let others comment on my "Pitbull". (Credits to a special friend in Tampa for the nickname... ;-) )
