Thanks! My M90 is kept separate from the others, had to be ultra quiet not to wake the wife- she would have freaked out where i placed them for the photos

Today`s project: Fisher PH 490 (in the photos) totally dead deck, and earlier prelim. exam there`s about 8 plugs to undo, remove a circuit board, belts are gone, and motor is loose. The deck is deep inside the chassis, the rear cover removes and entire electronics buried 7 inches deep- Going to take several photos of the process and post in restorations..

So funny my eyes went right to that Sharp. It took me a minute to realize it was sandwiched between the JVC's! There all great boxes!

I have worked on both 2-480 and 2-492 decks and they are pretty simple. I had to replace 1 motor so far but wasn't to bad. Good luck

Can`t give you the Sharp oldskool , she has quickly became my fave

Never knew there was a GX-33 ? Will have to look into her. After hearing the sound on the 88 it was an instant sell..even though the decks are mechanical the sound and nuances are true and clear , likened to the Akai GX-706D home cassette deck with glass ferrite heads
