$5 haul

so about a month ago we had the recycling guy come in to pick up our used plastic wrap (off wrapped up bales of grass, about 150kgs) I helped him load up, but i noticed he was from the local (45min drive) recycling center. i got talking an asked about old radios, showed him few photos, gave him my number in the hope something interesting would show up, he was cool with putting aside. win/win i thought

so he rung me Thursday morning, said had 4 to look at. took a drive up on sunday, the 4th 1 was a really ruff sanyo mono. $5 was solid
all still work, and decks! the Philips is filthy. paint or plaster not sure, both? try my best to clean, watch this space

Now, that's what I call a good deal. By the time you've cleaned all the builder's muck off the Philips it'll be a lot lighter!

Holy crap, these things do live in NZ. I keep meaning to pop into the recycling shop in Hamilton to see if they have anything, I think I'll get my butt down there pronto !
