Early start for me tomorrow, about 8 (that's early for a Sunday).

First up is a 20 mile drive to the A3 boot sale at Guildford, this is pretty big and will probably take 40mins to an hour to get round plus an egg, bacon and sausage burger and a cup of tea

Next is a 25 mile drive to the Bordon boot sale at, er, Bordon. This one is in a small field and will only take about 20 mins to get round.

Then the final leg, a 15 mile drive to Farnborough for the last boot sale of the day, this is quite big in a twin level car park and is normally rammed with people. I will allow a good half hour to get round then more refreshments.

So ive got about 60 miles to drive, about two hours of pushing past total strangers and two breakfasts to consume.

But the best bit is my daughter loves coming with me, so I get a great morning even if I don't find any boxes

Sounds good to me :)

I'm not dedicated enough to drive very far...I go to a smallish weekly one most Saturdays but that's only a few miles up the road. I thought I'd seen signs for a few one off ones this weekend but as usual I've completely forgotten where they are lol

Good luck in your hunt and I hope you and your daughter have fun. I've got a box to fix so I really ought to get on with that

Good luck mate!
When I go to a distant town or place to look for boomboxes, clothes, videogames, records or whatever, I usually bring a boomer as well, so to have something nice to listen to and to teach the locals what real music is  . Headphones works as well, just as there's something dope playing while I'm looking to get me into that crazy-focused-yet-very-calm-diggin'-frenzy :dog: B)

Peace

Cheers guys. I think the wife is coming also now so a proper family outing lol.
I can see a flaw in that arrangement! Will your other half not be able to see how much you spend if she's right there on the field with you?

We haven't done it in a while, but my wife and I would at least once a month get up early on Saturday and hit the Cracker Barrel or Waffle House, the make the loop around Jefferson County and Birmingham Metro hitting fleas, thrifts and as many estate sales we can. We have driven well over two hundred miles at times. Sometimes we venture nearby counties as well.

Sounds like you're about to have a whale of a day and I predict great finds for you. :-D

I'm crossing my fingers here. After all, who says there won't be a factory fresh M90 behind that pile of vomit-stained baby clothes or under the box of old sockets in sizes that don't fit any car built since 1907? :jacko:

Well guys due to getting up late I only hit two sales in thd end.
At Guildford it gook an hour to walk around and not a box in sight but I took a chance on this Sony system for a tenner. unfortunately the cd draw will not stay shut and the speakers sound farty. On to Farnborough, not much doing except for a midsize panny I got for a quid.
Tape deck works as does the line in but radio is not pulling in any stations and the unit is minging. Still whats a quid.

Exactly! And you got a Panasonic that not everyone sees often if not at all! A rare bird, at least in the 'States I'm sure. :-)
