Well whatever it is, it's not going to consume 250 watts while on batteries, that's for sure. :-P (unless it's a CAR battery, that is.)

the RX-XE520   never seen this sucker before
so here is the good price $10 from the sallys and both tape decks work and tuner :-)
the bad  speakers need re foamed/missing handle and side plates that hold the handle on/needs a new ic amp one has blown. so i think this will be a life time fixer as the parts will be like rocking horse **** to find i think when its up and running a 100% it will eat sony fh systems for breakfast

Looks SWEET!

Sounds like you got your work cut out for you, but nothing on that list sounds impossible. We have seen square speakers re-foamed and IC chip's replaced. The handle might be a tough one, but anything can be fabricated.

Looks like a MONSTER! :frankenstein:

What does it weigh?

Whoa! A restoration challenge for sure, but certainly a worthy candidate for that endeavor. Can I buy it, haha?

That's an amazing unit. Packed with cool features and stuff. I agree with Chris. Speakers can always be refoamed and amp chips replaced. Maybe a handle can be found by a similar type of donor box?

Ooo nice one, Craig!

Theres gotta be more of those around, I'm sure you'll get the part eventually.

Patience always pays off.

Rock On.

Looking at this unit again and it's wild how the tweeters are mounted. I bet it's got great spatial presence

Jesus Christ, that's beautiful!! :w00t:

When I saw the first picture I was thinking "Oh it's one of those Sony FH's", then I saw National (Panasonic), and I was all over it! :-D

A model I've never seen before, and such an awesome one. :-) I bet it sounds incredible...
