220v 230v 240v what's safe in the UK

Hi boomers can anyone advise me, when looking to buy a boombox if the voltage on the box is 220v is it safe to use them on our UK voltage that's higher than 220v???

Yes perfectly it's perfectly safe......I have plenty of boxes 220v that I run on 240v and never had a problem

I have too, the only issue i have noticed is that the power supply hums louder and once set to 240v the humming went away, it's been the same for several boxes, just thought it was worth mentioning

haha yep you saying that I have noticed the same I just thought it was a slightly noisey power supply unit but makes sense, iv had it running several hours and its not getting over warm

OK, I have a "Related?!?!" question....

I am going from US to Italy, many of my radio's have the 110v / 220v switch BUT they have the US 2 prong plug. Can I just get an adapter?
