Interesting because it doesn't seem like mine had any evidence of the arms being removed. The little plastic cutout things make the speakers show out almost too perfectly.
it might have came from the factory that way all I know is I bought one of these new at luskins back around 1990-91 and it had foam over the speakers so that's the way I'm used to seeing these boomboxes.I remember at the time guns and roses appetite for destruction had just came out and that s*** sounded great on that 935.
that was also at a time where the new style of boomboxes were coming out so I was very surprised to see a lasonic they didn't want to sell it to me at first because it was the display model but I talked them into it. I've never seen before in the store on the shelf like that. especially when everything was changing.
if it looks that good then it probably came from the factory that way. there are variances on any model of lasonic. could be that earlier versions of the 935 had foam while other later versions didn't or in certain markets they didn't or they did.
the second 935 I got was my very first purchase on eBay over 17 years ago. and it had foam over the speakers. I prefer it that way I don't need to see the speakers I know what's there.

Yeah like I saw a 935 over eBay which had like “super woofer” written in the corner instead of high fidelity and also it had smaller fake horn tweeters
Like Floyd said, the 935 came both ways. Some with the foam and some without. It's been so long, I honestly don't remember if I removed mine or if it came that way.
