Here is one of my mini boomboxes. Bought it off ebay for a good price.
Comes with box and manuals.
Works and sounds perfect !
Has a mini EQ on front Panel and "Space Sound" adjustment, which widens the stereo sound.
Made in Japan.

I can smell it from here.. :-)
Yes! That heady mixture of flux that hasn't lost its distinctive aroma, the solvents in the polystyrene cabinet that haven't quite left the room, the freshly pressed Paxolin of the PCBs. I'll most likely fall asleep with those wonderful images in my mind tonight.

Excellent find!

I like it too! Really a good Sony design and this one looks so fresh! Indeed an impressive set of features!

It appears to use a 1/8" input instead but there's no issue here with impedance or sensitivity, so all you need to use its line input is one of these:

:-) Plenty on eBay, dirt cheap too!

Radio Shack used to have handy stuff like these - they may still have 'em if you can be bothered to go and look...

ya, just saw the walkman in ontop. ! Neat ! :)
Very neat. The reason they use that socket is that they come with a built in switch to cut the FM sound automatically when you plug the line source in. RCAs can do this too, but the longer centre pins that are needed for that are rare these days and expensive as they were only ever associated with high end portables from the likes of Hacker. 5 pin DIN sockets also have switching of this type but they're larger and Sony have gone for style as well as clever functionality with this little beauty.

Me too, more so every time I look at this thread, sitting there in its box with all the stuff that came with it from the factory  . Dammit, I'm going to have to find one of these now. Oh well, I didn't want to eat this month anyway! :-D
