Whenever any company claims 1000W for their audio product I automatically tend to believe the product must be complete and utter crap. I mean, come on, it's just ridiculous. Real 1000W is PA stuff, not portables... not even home stereos.

Four hours of play time isn't very much, too...

Anyway, I'd be interested in anyone's opinion who has checked this one out personally. I'm just very preoccupied solely due to the watts claim.

A Kaboom weighs the same as that POS, but only makes 21 watts per channel RMS.

Plus at least the Kaboom has speakers in front, not just on the ends.

Also I just read the owners manual (all 6 pages of it), and there appears to be no way to shut off the strobe lights. How embarrassing.

I would really be interested in a review should someone pick one up.

I'm with Zippy, 1000 watts :-/ :hmmm:  And 4 hours of battery? How long were the guys Rocking Venice Beach this past weekend? You gonna walk around with your dead tube? Take it back to the car and let it melt?

Also, it's made by Pyle, basically the Yorx of today! They share the same product line with Boss and if your familiar with their current products, they are at or near the bottom. Pyle used to be a good brand and still have a few things worth while, but it's all Chinese made cr@p

If it hits hard and can Rock a party, cool. But my head won't wrap around a tube AND if it could, it would have the letters JVC on it.

Rectangle's are where it's at, Block Head for Life!

Just found these real stats for this thing:
  • High Output Speaker System - 500 Watts Peak x 2 / 250 Watts RMS x 2 - Wireless Streaming Options: Bluetooth & NFC Connection
  • Works with Any Bluetooth Device (iPhone, Android, Smartphone, iPad, Tablet, MP3 Player, PC, etc.)
  • Rugged & Portable - NFC (Near Field Communication) Easily Pairs to Android Devices
  • Built-in Digital Amp & Rechargeable Battery - Illuminating LED Lights Pulse to Music
  • Inputs: AUX, Mic, Guitar & DC Power Jack - Charge Time: 4 Hrs. - Charge Cable Included
so it's rated 250 real wattsx2 but this still sounds wrong to me.

Angles define a box more than curves ever will, fo sho.
I'm just not getting the trend in outward-pointing speakers, I want to be the Memorex guy when I crank a box. Full frontal assault.

The tube design is a proven effective way to get BIG Bass out of a compact design. I bet this thing ROCKS hard and for $250...it's probably a good deal.

I'm just still holding my breath for a "Real Man's Boombox". This would be a great birthday present for your teen-aged daughter

I've read a lot of online reviews now. There'san Amazon review where someone says he opened this thing up and the speakers were stamped 40W. Another review tells about 2hrs 40min battery life on full volume. Several people claim very bad build quality. No crisp sound. Extremely directional, which comes at no surprise hence the speaker layout. Not loud enough on batteries.

"If you think it will deliver sound like an old Lasonic boom box of the 80's, forget it. Sure the Lasonic took "12?" D cell batteries but it could crank the tunes, and sounded good doing it. This just does not come close."

Doesn't have to be true but I think it points in a direction.

Yeah I'm sorry but you won't get much quality for only $213 (or $267 if you get the version with an FM tuner).

JVC got it right even tho, to me, the Kabooms are ugly & the tiny woofers in the front of the tube, along with those oversized end-caps. looks lopsided to me & a good 777 looks KILLER!

Just goes to show you, looks can be deceiving. The idea would be great if they could technically pull off that punch in the gut & a killer music strobe, vivid, bright & FAST! Too bad they cut corner for costs. Everything is about cost now, not really design driven....

That's what drives me to MOD....

I can't stand how young people believe the marketing hype saying that new is good and old is bad!

As for this Pyle of **** 1000watt tube, which end do you listen to because it's impossible to listen to both at the same time! :-) - so it's really a mono. It might sound alright indoors with the sound bouncing of walls but outdoors it would be crap.

Give me a break, the portable gear in shops now is so depressing - boring, gutless and poorly made 'throw away' junk. :-(

I wish the Japanese would start making sound gear again

Jimmy, I'm with you, but I'm still interested in a review from a member. Not that I would ever go out a buy one, but just interested.

I don't think we will ever see any major company make a machine that is the "Real Deal". No one wants to spent what it would actually cost to make a top end blaster and of the few companies that have made a product that was in the right price range, they were lambasted for being a cheap POS.

Not sure what the answer is.

The problem is that to get the cost down significantly, you need volume. And I'm talking at least tens of thousands of units.

Or else be a big company willing to sell a loss-leader.
