    GE vs Panasonic

...and the Panasonic RX-5050. These two boxes tend to be the radio I grab when I don't want a huge amount of weight but a decent sound. The JVC M70 is in the general mid-size range but it weighs much more and is in another class in regards to power output so it is being excluded. These two...

    Rearranged Collection

You are so right. Each and every one of these radios at one point I fell asleep listening to. The ones I have taken apart and got working I enjoy the most. The little GE Blockbuster being the most recent radio I got back together, is getting a workout now. I always feel like they owe me a little...

    Rearranged Collection

Oh and it’s not unusual to get bored with certain models after awhile. At that point, sell an M70 or C100 or something to make room for something else to provide the “spice” in your life.

    JVC RC-M70C - Tape Calibration & DEMO

Hey boombox junkies. A few years back, I got this near mint JVC M70C from a cranky old guy in Waterloo Ontario, Canada which is about 3 hours from my home town of Windsor, Ontario. I met him in the lobby of his building & did not have the opportunity to fully test it out but the deck worked &...

I saw the build on this. Very creative and kept the radio stock looking. I enjoyed that build.

My JVC M70 with RGB LED Dial Light Mod

After a long time, I opened my JVC M70 for restoration and LED mode of the dial light was certain. Originally, I had thought of having warm white LEDs only, but once I opened up the M70, the idea evolved into having RGB LEDs for an endless illumination experience. However, a controller is...

What are some must haves for a collection?

...Toshiba RT-S90 is said by some to be a top box but it in my experience it has a lousy build, is difficult to fix and sound isn’t that great. The m70 can be a safer choice but it can have problems with sliders so if you don’t like sliders, there are other models. There are lots of threads, I...

I'm thinking about getting a good Box for college, which one do you guys think would be best?

Just depends if you prioritize style or performance. For performance, the JVC M70 smokes all other boxes of its size. But be prepared to pay $300+

They are still out there. JVC RC-M70

I have seen lots of radios with paint splatter on them. My feelings about this must stem from growing up in a household that kept things well preserved. If I had a M70, that thing would be as far away from the paint as possible. It's got the power to be far away and be heard.
