The jvc pc-5 is now definitely my favourite boombox. Obviously I bought a second one as a spares donor. It was cheap since it had a few issues.

One of the problems was a broken eject button. I thought I'd try to fix it.
Removing the old one was easy. I replaced the belts while I had it in pieces, which was not quite so easy. These are quite compact and complex compared to the Panasonics I'm used to messing with.

My plan was to 3d print a new one.

So I took the good one I had and did some measuring. I modeled it at work and my brother-in-law offered to print it for me.

I also asked at work if I could use the cnc to try a mill one too.

The printed one was ok, but obviously would need finishing and painting. But the milled one was very nice. It works great.
