6 pin locking push switch disassembly?

Hello, I just encountered a problem with my Tecsonic MX-900. The on/off button won't stay down! The box will only power up when I hold the button down, but it won't lock in the 'on' position. Before I try to buy a suitable replacement component, I need to access the inside of the switch to see why it's not locking, but I can't see how to open it up. Here's the offending switch, can anyone please help??

It's hard to describe how they work but the mechanism is inside that light blue horseshoe piece.
First thing is to clean all of that fuzz off it with a soft toothbrush or something similar.
After that, I'd try spraying some cleaner into the front part of the switch and working it.
You might get lucky and get it working.
Not sure if this one is but a lot of these switches are made by Alps.

Thank you so much! Progress has been made. I got the horseshoe cover off and the pin inside was falling out along with the spring. I put the spring back in, followed by the pin, but not sure if I've done it correctly. Is the spring supposed to add sideways pressure to the pin, additional to upwards tension? I can get the switch to lock down when putting the horseshoe back on, but when I operate the switch after that, it won't lock again. Pics for reference.

I do believe that pin has to be naturally skewed to one side. In the relaxed position, the pin is in the top of that plunger. Then when you depress it, the pin follows the track down until the end where it will "pop" over slightly and sit in that pocket at the bottom. This is where it will engage locked in the "on" position. If you depress again, the pin again pops in that same direction until it follows the track back to the relaxed position (top of the plunger tip). It basically takes a heart shaped circular path. But in order to naturally want to go to the side, it will probably have to have slight sideways tension.

Or maybe I'm all wrong about it, lol :D

If that plunger can't be fixed, if it was me, I'd probably just install one of my led light controls and use it to toggle a relay.

Update... it's FIXED! I'm so stupid. So after I'd put the 'horseshoe' back together, I was testing the switch while it was resting on the woofer magnet. This was affecting the metal parts inside. The switch appears to working properly again. Thanks guys!
