Sharp GX-68Z any thoughts ?

Got it now for $40 converted. So far under observation but first impression is mixed. Nice sound specially via aux input but not quite loud as I expected since power consumption is quite high at 130 watts and with those protruding heat sink behind. Not near FH7 loudness in anyway. Though I noticed aux input sensitivity is low. Need to max out the volume in my pc and in the Sharp before getting things hot. 
Probably needs some pot and switch cleaning still.

Has done some nice cleaning of the control switches inside and little by little the sound has improve a lot. I also found out that the speakers included has some distortion problems, that's why the low output volume. Substituted some other bookshelf speakers and it's now singing wonderfully , though not as powerful as the FH7 still but sound quality is just as great. Happy camper now. 
To chime in, Versus the FH7, it is comparable, sound quality wise with nice clean sound with good stereo separation. Though the FH7 leads in the power department with better headroom. By the way, big improvement on the GX-68 is when I substituted it's own speakers with the Sony APM 909 speakers. Near "hi fi" sound has been attained with these combo.alan you're a hard bugger to catch online lad, enjoy bro

I've seen people selling these on Fakebook, less than £200 but obviously most won't post so you'd have to drive to get it. i think the UK model of that sharp is CD - X9, There's a faulty one on Ebay now for £49 buy it now with £10 postage.

Check this one, very similar to the 68, a CD-X99, sold for £39.. £200 is way to much, no matter what, if you buy one of them, the Cd lens will be worn out, and probably the belts will be gone as well, so £200 is way way over priced, every sharp Ghetto i have ever owned with a CD player, the Cd has never worked, and that was Years ago. this is just my opinion though, it's not my money, i'm just letting you know what to expect that's all.
