Extra Spring for Idler Tire Issue With Blockbuster 3-5259A

I recently saw a restoration photo of the Blockbuster 3-5259A where an extra spring was added to bring more tension to the idler tire. Has anyone installed one? What size spring and source to buy? Thanks!

Your just trying to overcome the the age of the rubber. I would first resurface the rubber on the idler tyre by placing in a drill and spin on flat sandpaper. Or replace with an o-ring.

When you add more springs to the mech it can add to the wow and flutter
