Cheers for that, are they much better speakers?Timecop1987 said:great first project! I also enjoyed workin on my GF-9000 - i changed the speakers for a pair of Lasonic TRC-931 woofers. Pretty easy to work on for the start.
As for the missing parts such as battery-cover and sliders - you could ask member nikonfoo..best source for parts
I'll look into it, I saw that post, doesn't look too difficult to caress into place. ThanksNortherner said:Nice I like the 9000. I spent a ridiculous number of hours rebuilding one that got smashed. By the way a GF575 transformer works but you have to adjust the casing internally to fit it. 575’s are far more common so it might be an option

it really depends on what you like - as for originality the factory speakers do the thing. and IMHO they also sound quite good! Mine were dirty and had rotten surrounds (beyond repair for me) so i had to replace 'em. In my books they look and sound better than the originals.Obuffalo said:Cheers for that, are they much better speakers?great first project! Yes. There's an internal power switch ahead of the main power button, activated when the deck is used, so the entire box shuts down after the tape's finished. It's known as the sleep function. Tons of boxes have this feature.Obuffalo said:Also when I press play the motor turns even when the power button is off.
thanks, didn't want to start without having that bit right, the other components are easy to find, that not so much.caution said:Yes they are ok.
