OK, My dad just gave me a model radio kit he's had since he was a child. I thought I would post up some pictures, because I figured some of you may enjoy seeing something like this.

Then it got me thinking....I'd like to see everyone's OLDEST RADIO. Boombox or not....what's the oldest radio you've got?

I have this valve (tube) radio which dates from 1951 and is in perfect working order.
The set is a 'short-superhet' design.

The sensitivity and sound of this (for its time fairly entry level unit) is very good even without a long wire antenna connected, switch on and after less than a minute of valve warmup the set swooshes into life with a rich and punchy sound which makes listening a most pleasurable experience .

I have used a library image as I havent taken a pic of mine yet, and mine is not quite as pristine as the image shown here.

I have a large collection of vintage radios, but I only collect portables, this is my oldest a Bush MB60 battery or mains valve portable from 1958, this my favourite in my collection and I have had this for over 30 years.
