BomBeat40.
It's still the most perfectly designed box I've ever seen, even if they were ten a penny I'd rate this box are my ultimate grail.
The size, looks (and from what I hear) the sound all works to make the perfect boombox. I do love the super jumbo sized boxes a lot, but as carry around boxes they're a little impractical. The BomBeat40 delivers on every single level that makes me love a boombox.

Rock On.

Well....

I have to say my M70, because of my history with it. :) :) :)

Otherwise, it would have to be my M90... and my Discolite with the volume turned down.

great topic azz, well to be fair after owning so many now im torn between 3-
1.jvc m70....had the minty one way back when from good old dave bush in blackpool back when i had money.....then sold it when i hit rock bottom, but would now love another one-im inspired by guys on here finding them for peanuts, such as blasterbryan on youtube who picked a fixer upper for 40 dollars, proving they dont have to cost 300 pounds or be bought from a certain rip off online selling site
2.secondly the gf777,for similar reasons as above, like a prick i had one, again off dave bush, but sold it when i fell on bad times, and would now love another.
3.but if anything on more of a closer, personal grail it would have to be a sanyo m9990.these are wonderful units and sound incredible but miss my old one badly.my dream is to find one on the car boot.well i can dream i guess

I dont agree with all this "grail" thing actually. Damn is too hard to love just one boomer. All my keepers so far are "grails" for me  . I mean - i cut the count a lot , but all left are "grails" for me.

The first box I ever lusted for and for me is a true grail is the JVC RC-M70. The summer of 1981 my best friend had one and we went everywhere together with the M70 in tow. Whether hanging at the park or the mall the M70 provided a full summer of memories. I knew I couldn't afford one then and by the time I could they were long out of production. To my surprise in 2009 I was ebay surfing and came across one for $100 BIN. I could not believe it and purchased it immediately. It arrived working 100% and still does to this day. Here is a pic of that M70 in my driveway as I washed my cars back in 2009...

Yeah, I only leaned on the Buick 'cause it matched the blue & white Todd 1 jacket (that I borrowed from a friend of mine) and Adidas sneakers I was wearing that day. Haha. That was a great looking car I used to see parked there back in the day but had no idea who it belonged to.

My grails are both Aiwas.
First the Aiwa CS880,the drugstore in my hometown had an Aiwa 880 playing all the time at the soda fountain and I remember being blown away by it's clean bassy sound and looks. So it's always on my grail list.

Second Aiwa grail is the CS660,my buddies brother had one when we were in Highschool and it was the first large box I ever got to borrow and carry around. I loved it's sound and looks and I still do..

Rick what you said was perfect. So well articulated as usual. :)
My grail is the one I own, my woodgrained Sanyo MX-820. It is superbly beautiful to me and the proportions and design are immaculate, they just please my eye so well. That combined with its quality and scarcity makes it my winner. Besides my favourite colour has been brown ever since I decided it so, a long time ago.
I would love a boxed one one day :)

JVC M-90. Really, is there any other? :hmmm:

Just one.

Please?
Snagged that puppy like a fat kid on a cake... ;) ...had to sell a few lesser grails, but it's all good. Tutto Buono!

Playing it constantly. I love my grail!
