Hey everybody, another pollack just joined your forum.
Although I'm first generation off the boat, I was born & raised just outside of Detroit.
I'm now in my 40's & I've really wanted another boombox since my dewalt jobsite radio is a turd painted yellow.
Back in the day I used to own many of the ghetto blasters we've come to cherish today.
Skipping class in high school we'd go uptown & jamm the beastie boys - license to ill or some ll cool j - rock the bells.
Good times but the class I cut most often was math so the "registration challenge" almost kicked my ass & nearly prevented me from joining.
Who would have thought algebra would be a requirement to join a forum... lol
Anyhow, I was driving home one night last month & made a last minute decision to take a route I'd never normally take.
I turned the corner about 5 blocks from home & there was a huge pile of bags & boxes on the curb. Sticking out from between the bags & boxes was a dark rectangle with what looked like two antennas on top.
My curiosity got the best of me, knowing what they resemble in the dark, so i pulled over & jumped out.
I saw the long handle & said to myself "Naaa, couldn't be!" but low & behold out of the trash appeared a Lasonic TRC-935 !!!
I immediately said to myself "I'll take it!"
Now this thing was a mess when I found it, plastered with stickers, missing parts & the speaker grilles were pushed in (which made it sound like a turd rolled in glitter) but believe it or not the damn thing worked!
I have since gave it a thorough douching & it looks & sounds amazing now.
Now comes the hard part, finding the missing pieces, which is the primary reason why I joined this community.
I'm really hoping to find resources that'll lead to the parts I need to make this boombox complete again.
Thanks in advance to any members that can assist me in bringing this back from nearly being land fill.
I'll upload pics when I get my post count up or whatever it takes cuz the pic upload failed...
