Yep I broke my own rule - "I will not buy a cd boombox to add to my collection" - but - it was only 9.99.. had to do it - Sony CFD-454 - tape works - cd works - sounds good - needs clean up but hey - 10 bucks at thrift store.

Apparently, they're some new form of gramophone record. I tried playing one recently and I ended up taking it back to the shop as my stylus just skipped across the surface in one movement. Pure rubbish, bring back the wax cylinder I says!

Did all those CD player boxes come with pint glasses on the bottom? Maybe that's why they're not so popular.

Nothing wrong with a CD box. I have a Sony CFD-444 (verticle, from '88) and a Panny DT-707 (I know, I know. But the bass is insane).
To each his own. :-)

Bro, I won't dog your CD box, because that's not cool....But I am kind of kicking myself for not picking up a radio that was at a thrift store very similar to yours. It was only $15.00, then they had an out of biz sale 1/2 off everything and I still didn't get it and now the store is gone. :thumbsdown:

But I told myself that I just can't cross that line. No CD's for me :no: If I do, then all my grail space will be gone in no time!

I have to be strong Damn It!
